You were, i. e. have been in the German Army (Bundeswehr) for 4, 8, 12 or more years and, now, get get the opportunity to build up a non-military career, to establish an additional connection point and coordinate relations. You already had the possibility to participate in different further education measures and schemes during your term of service, obtain further degrees and widen your perspectives with the help of the BFD. Our courses are funded by the BFD and we shall be happy to look at further possibilities with you.
AllboutEnglish does not represent a German Armed Forces College, but an official as well as private educational establishment that helps in succeeding making a subject and field-related qualification and further education. It represents a language school that concentrates on English as well as German language and covers fields in the economical as well as private sector. English is one of the most important economical languages nowadays.
One specialisation of AllboutEnglish is the military sector. Not many language schools cater for the further education of active or non-active service personnel and their families. AllboutEnglishfinds it very important that soldiers and their families should be supported on their way back into civilian life and helped to find a non-military career once their service is fulfilled or while they are still with the services. You can meet like-minded co-participants and strive for the same goal, work for the same certification and can support one another. AllboutEnglish offers a sensible task to the regular soldier during the waiting period prior to commencing further education.
Universities as well as other educational establishments present the possibility to earn a further, possibly higher or equivalent qualification, to retrain or to specialise in one field. That way, future perspectives are broadened and partly new goals are set. Often, there are waiting times until the respective further education, further training commences. As it often does, the waiting period mostly remains idle. However, this is the perfect time to fill some gaps in education. Many soldiers think that they have little up to no English knowledge. That is where we come into play.
AllboutEnglish is the correct choice to fill up the idle time with sensible tasks … YOUR task is to learn and renew English to a level that neither your future employer will have something to complain about nor the studies at university or further education at any other institute are in jeopardy due to a lack of English. Here taking a course at our school might very well be considered.
Now, after you served in the German Armed Forces (BW), you need to keep pace with the demands that are posed on you from training/ school/ further education institutes and the free economy. Not the highest educational qualification secures a good job position in the non-military environment but specific and targeted training. To attain this it is necessary to learn and deepen individual modules as far as possible (here in this case – English, rhetoric, communicative behaviour, staff appraisals, asf).
Furthermore, the participation in a ‘pre-course’ could prepare you for your studies at different institutes since essential learning methods and strategies are given.
Soldiers who were in the army have got character traits that are gladly seen and that represent a real benefit for every party – discipline, punctuality, integrity, loyalty, team spirit, power of self-assertion, perseverance, quickness of the mind and readiness for duty.
AllboutEnglish distinguishes itself by/ through the high quality of courses as regards to content as well as showing practical relevance. By arranged joint journeys into English speaking areas the rather theoretical side of the language is brought into an active practical training situation. The best theoretical material is of little use if one should not be able to put the learned content to practical use.
Obviously, the attention does not only rest on regular, i. e. short-term soldiers, but also on professional, i. e. long-term soldiers who have to improve their English knowledge because they will soon be deployed into another country. Finally there they shall have to communicate with natives, locals, inhabitants and soldiers of different nationalities. Thus, it is also important for them to gain further skills in inter-personal communication and cultural interaction.
Likewise we would like to address foreign soldiers and their families who come from English speaking foreign countries and shall be stationed here in Germany for a time given – helping them to orient themselves in the German language represents a further goal of AllboutEnglish.
And as can clearly be seen it is not important in how far any English knowledge is present. If nothing should be there then we shall start from scratch. With your motivation, your understanding of learning und perseverance that I attribute to soldiers it will be a ‚doddle‘ or German ‚Kinderspiel‘. I know that we can do it and YOU shall be proud of yourselves.
We shall finish off every course (single persons or groups) with a test in which you can achieve a Certificate of AllboutEnglish and after which you can proudly say that neither your initial reserve nor real difficulties to converse in the other language persist. The test can be repeated once without any extra fees.
Of course we also offer courses where only fun with respect to the matter counts. For this please get into contact with us as well.
The rooms of AllboutEnglish are well designed, eloquent, modern, neatly arranged and nice, that means there is nothing that could come close to any crowded situation. Media are your own notebook, whiteboard, flipchart, projector. The highest number of participants is 8. The limiting of the number to 8 people is advantageous to offer individual assistance. Virtual lectures are looked upon somewhat sceptically since they do not enable the interaction and contact with the participants and are thus unconducive to learn a language.
